Castaway's Cottage
| Castaway’s Cottage is just 2 blocks from the beach. The new queen sofa-sleeper in the living room has a 5 inch memory foam mattress, so can comfortably sleep 2 adults, or your children. The kitchen has a new electric range (with new microwave above), plus refrigerator and a dishwasher. There's a great full size front loading washer & dryer in the hallway. The spacious bathroom features a shower/tub combo, and a fun tropical turquoise motif. A back deck and fire pit is complemented by an afternoon sunny area at the front with a large picnic table. A couple of short hikes head from the adjoining forest, where you'll also get views of the surf … or carry a chair to sit and read a book and feel like you're in the wilderness (you are!). The landscaping is just fun and reflects the owners’ British-inspired artistic flair. Can you find the gnomes? Castaway's Cottage is gated from the street and has a large driveway to park your toy hauler or boat trailer, and an oversized one car garage for parking a car or toys inside. The homeowners purchased this house as their personal residence in 2003. Rich retired in 2013 following careers in education, forestry and national parks, tours/travel in the USA, and retail garden centers in the USA and UK. Joode is retired from a nursing career in Oxford and the Cotswolds with the UK National Health Service. “We are both enthusiastic gardeners and enjoy the outdoors, birds, beaches, and travel- in fact we met on an adventure tour in South America and were married by the stream at Heceta Beach- just a few minutes’ walk from Castaway’s Cottage. “When at home at the cottage, we listen to the waves and the wind in the trees, and watch the many kinds of birds that visit each day. We try to “walk the beach” daily to see birds ,seals, and perhaps find sand dollars or other beach treasures, and delight in knowing that the woods and beach stretch for miles beyond.” |
